Comentario del broker
We are at Boatshed Cornwall pleased to list this Marieholm International Folkboat. This later version, moulded in GRP, and based on the Nordic Folkboat.
The International Folkboat One Design (IF-Boat for short) was built by Marieholm in Sweden and compared to its Nordic ancestor, it’s slightly longer overall on the waterline.
Peter Poland’s magazine article tells you all you need to know about the IF-Boat, one of the most successful Folkboat derivations of all time.
“Certainly, if I were looking for a beautiful and seaworthy GRP ‘classic’ for club racing and shorthanded Channel cruising, the IF-Boat would be high on my list.”
This particular IF was found undercover and still in limbo from storage. With most of the yacht having been de-rigged and covered. Once the cover had been removed and onboard it is every bit a 1976 IF. Further discussion with the vendor revealed a loved and cared for yacht.
Recent upgrades include:
Renewed mast (2018)
Renewed Standing rigging (2018)
Renewed running rigging (2019)
Renewed main and headsails (2018)
Engine refurbished (2020)
Anyone interested in IF’s will know the following and sailing of these iconic one-off designs, especially here in Cornwall. Whilst this is a yacht that needs recommissioning it is certainly one to view.
