The exceptionally well equipped galley lies to port of the companionway with well considered storage, designed for practicality and function rather than looks. The dedicated self draining gas locker, which houses 2 bottles, is located on the cabin roof. Opposite the galley is the completely rebuilt spacious heads with a curved cabin door to further increase usable space, with Manual Jabsco WC, pressurized hot and cold shower via a hot and cold mixer unit and vanity area.
Forward of the heads is a decent sized hanging locker. The saloon has 2 single berths either side of the original double leafed table. Moving forward into the fore cabin, again you have two single berths, both with storage draws and cupboards under. The chain locker is forward of the berths.
The interior of the boat is very light and airy with small round opening port holes throughout and large overhead hatches. Headroom is excellent throughout.

Comentario del broker
The 1939 Hillyard 12 Tonner is a joy to behold. She has been completely rebuilt from the hull up. She is also unique in that the aft cabin has been removed, allowing the saloon companionway to be extended aft. It also creates a much larger aft cockpit and a voluminous lazerette locker. This houses some additional equipment and gives greater access to the aft section of the engine.
Stepping aboard this double ended classic, you instantly become aware of the sturdy construction and quality of the rebuild, all done by the current owner himself, a classic boat restorer.
Having seen the quality of workmanship above deck, your expectations for the interior are raised and as you descend into the saloon you are not disappointed. Again the high standard of workmanship is evident. All internal furniture, lockers and additional storage have been replaced. Too much to mention here, it needs to be seen to be appreciated.
This Hillyard 12 Tonner has been set up for long distance cruising, the level of equipment on board will put many modern cruisers to shame. The current owner is a long term live-aboard and sails her single handed most of the time, having cruised down the West Coast of France, to Spain and Gibraltar. For long term cruising under sail, she has a wind generator and a 30w solar panel which is more than enough to keep her onboard systems operational when sailing long distance. Furthermore, safety has been a major concern for the current owner, therefore every conceivable safety feature has been installed.
If you are looking for a classic wooden sailing boat with a strong pedigree and where all of the restoration work has been carried out, this Hillyard 12 tonner has to be a serious contender. It is fair to say that the hull does need a coat of paint, but once done she will be a real head turner.
This recent price reduction now presents an ideal opportunity to a true, lovingly restored classic, at a sensible price.
