The stand up engine room is accessed through a full size aluminum door just off the aft cabin.  The engine space is exceptionally clean and well organized.

New Daewoo 160 hp naturally aspirated engines were installed in 2001.  Daewoo acquired the rights to the tooling for the smaller Man engines;  these engines are one of this series.  These engines are often found on commercial vessels.  They are simple, manual, naturally aspirated straightforward, reliable engines.

This vessel was built as a research vessel commissioned by the University of London’s marine laboratory and was completely transformed into an expedition cruising yacht in 2008.

The heavy GRP hull was completely gutted and all systems were removed and replaced with new. A new aluminum superstructure, bridge wings, cap rail, forward rail and boat deck rail were installed.  All the windows were removed and replaced with new.  The hull, deck and superstructure were completely thermo-insulated down to the water line.  All the paint on the hull, both inside and out, was removed and re-coated.

The interior is simple but refined with traditional detailing utilizing a combination of bright and painted wood. The overall result is a well-integrated, compatible and complementary blend of rugged look, practical functionality and comfort.

Saloon:
The inviting saloon finish is waxed pine, paneling with varnished oak trim.  The oak cabin sole has a flat oil finish.  Seating is on an L shaped settee to port or chairs to starboard.  Four chairs plus the settee, surround an oak drop leaf table.  Ample storage is available in wood paneled lockers and drawers.

Galley:
The well appointed galley is forward of the saloon and 2 steps down.  The Cabinetry is waxed pine paneling.  Oiled oak counter tops, and cabin sole.  The backsplash is tiled and there is matching painted cabinets below the counter top.

Pilothouse:
The pilothouse is five steps up from the Galley.  There is an elevated settee/pilot berth to port with chart storage below.  There is a chart table and general storage to starboard.  The Helm Station is forward with all the ships Navigation Equipment accessed here.  There are doors both sides of pilothouse.

Aft Stateroom:
There is an antique "Captains" chest in the aft cabin.  The Queen Berth is a pullman aft on the port side.  The head is to starboard and has a large vanity forward and a stylish glass paneled shower stall aft.  Ample lockers for storage and a heated towel rack.  Teak vanity counter top and gloss white paneling.

Forward Stateroom:
The Queen Berth is a pullman aft on the port side.  There is ample storage in built in lockers and drawers. The head is forward with storage outboard to starboard and the shower forward.  Access to forepeak is through the shower in the forward head. Teak vanity counter top and gloss white paneling.
