Mast is in pitched pine with a varnish finish, stepped around a metal tabernacle mounted on deck between forecabin and main saloon. Gaff is in pine, traditionally laminated in a curve, also varnished. The gaff was new in 2006.
The 9" diameter, 35-foot long boom is solid and has been sliced through end-to-end to prevent warping. The bowsprit is in solid timber and is hinged so that it can be stove up when not in use.
Standing rigging is 5/8" galvanised ploughed steel wire. The forestay has a wire tackle at its bottom, with the wire stowed on a winch drum on the windlass (used for lowering the mast).
Halyards are 10mm flexible wire, coming down onto drums built into the halyard winches either side of the mast. One winch handles the main, the other handles the bowsprit and headsails.
Mainsail is laced on the gaff and loose footed on the boom.

Built on traditional lines in riveted wrought iron plate.
Stripped out by current owner in 2007, then scaled internally with a needle gun and coated through with hot bitumen,then fitted with rock wool insulation before being re-lined and re-fitted out completely.
Hull has been shot blasted externally, from deck down to keel, then sprayed with 3 coats of Hemple expoxy before polyurethane paint was applied to the topsides.
Oak leeboards mounted on swivels (with removable clevis pins) either side of the hull.

Comentario del broker
Originally built as a fish carrier in 1904, this very pretty Tjalk was converted into a private yacht in 1908. She oozes warmth and character and will be equally happy on her mooring or cruising under sail or power.
She comes with a full residential mooring in a not-for-profit, community owned residential mooring for historic ex-working vessels in central London. These moorings are extremely hard to come by and if sold separately would cost £82,250 (so this effectively makes the price of the boat a very attractive £112,750). This facility is dedicated to historic barges that pre-date 1963, and outwardly largely reflect the original trim of their working life. There is a full time moorings manager and a members’ pier house with Wi-Fi and meeting facilities; there's also a kitchen, toilets and a shower for visiting craft. This boat’s mooring is on the down-river inner arm of the pontoons and gives unencumbered access to the river.
This boat has been very well cared for, benefiting from a major refit in 1998-99, where almost everything apart from the hull was replaced. She was given a new mast, rigging and rudder and had other significant work undertaken.
Down below, the interior is very bright, warm and homely, with a large open plan galley and loads of space for eating, lounging and entertaining.
She offers a perfect living space for a single person, a couple or small family, yet is small enough to manoeuvre and to sail or motor with ease.
As a cost-effective, community minded place to live in the heart of London, it doesn’t get much better than this.
