Comentario del broker
Boatshed Norfolk are very pleased to bring this genuinely breath-taking example and the last ever made, David Williams Turtle 31 cruising / racing 31 foot yacht to the market.
This was David's own personal boat, built by him in 1995, and the current owner bought it directly from him some 16 years ago. She is pretty much pristine and has clearly been professionally looked after all her life - I could not find any area to fault.
This is a classic lifting roof Broads design racer and cruising yacht that is just spectacular in every way.
She has an electric motor propulsion system fitted well ahead of her time so is the epitome of eco river cruising.
The boat exudes class and practicality not normally found in the type, with counter-balanced lifting coachroof and mast making her simple to manage.
Her Jeckells sails appear to be in good order as is her rig in general, and her wood work is exceptional in all aspects.
She has a hollow keel with bilge pump fitted and a full shore power and battery charging system fitted. She has twin saloon areas with table which each convert to single berths and a good sized twin in the bow cabin that can be separated by companionway doors. She has a compact yet fully functional galley port side with good storage below and has electrically and manually pumped water.
The coachroof has been professionally two-pack coated in a pleasant cream colour and when lowered she is very sleek. With the counter balanced coachroof raised you have good head room inside the boat and the full cockpit tent maximises the usable space to include the large cockpit. The cockpit can seat 4 to 6 and has a removable table and huge storage lockers below.
Below decks the boat is fully dry and gleaming. With no bowsprit, this design maximises the hull length which adds to her speed for racing. The boat has been lifted every year and maintained by a respected local sailing yard and it shows the moment you see this beautiful vessel.
If you are looking for a stand out classic cruising yacht that can also be competitive and turn heads wherever she goes then this wonderful vessel will be perfect.
Her mooring is available to be transferred, is paid to 31.3.2026 and is included in this sale. The tranquil and stunning mooring right in the heart of the northern Broads' best sailing area, does have the option to extend beyond that date too.
Her Broads toll is paid for 2024 season to March 25 and her Boat Safety Certificate is valid to March 2025. The vessel was lifted and antifouled in 2024.
These boat details are subject to contract.
