About Katja Gorjup

I started working with Boatshed in December 2021.

What did you do before working with Boatshed?
I am very happy being an in-house lawyer of public and private undertakings. I specialise in the field of negotiations, concluding contracts, advising and selling business shares, and my clients are a mix of English & German, requiring me to be fluent in both the written and spoken languages.

What attracted you to become part of the Boatshed team?
I am now pleased to be part of the Boatshed team, ready to help you sell or buy your boat from Boatshed Lanzarote.

Are you a motorboater or a sailor?
During the time that my husband was away delivering boats to the Adriatic, we decided to buy our first sailing boat. She was a wooden yacht and we learned very quickly how to maintain her !

Following the early days of owning our first boat, my husband and I were fortunate enough to take a sabbatical from our busy work lives...we bought a Lagoon 38.
To begin with, we enjoyed sailing along the coast of Spain before making Lanzarote our stopover and crossing the Atlantic in 2011, to the ABC Islands. Loving the cruising life we chose to deliver a Catamaran Voyage 46 from Caymans to Connecticut, which then led on to another delivery, this time a beautiful 60ft classic monohull. This delivery took us from New York to Florida, and then our job was to make the boat ready to be put on the market, for sale.

What is your most memorable boating experience?
Our love and knowledge of catamarans grew and we now own a Fontain Pajot 38 Athena. My husband and I have cruised her extensively in Turkey before we sailed her to Greece, and once we are able to, post the current restrictions, we will bring her closer to our current home in the Canary Islands.
