Comentario del broker
A rare opportunity to purchase a classic custom British Power Boat Company 22 runabout.
The boat was found in a chicken shed in the early 1980s and wasn't restored until 2013.
In 2013 the boat was taken to see Cserve Ltd, a well-known Poole based boatbuilders who are experienced in both wood and modern technology construction methods.
The decision was taken to utilise the original method of double planking. The inner skin was diagonal planking throughout. The topsides were copied as horizontal planking.
Below the water like the inner skin was covered with a glass epoxy sheeting, where it would have had calico, and longitudinal planking, instead of a second diagonal skin, to speed up the build. One other departure from the original construction technique was that all joints were epoxy glued and no fastenings were used.
The Chris Craft engine and gearbox were fully refurbished by Robert Henkell of Chris Craft parts, in Michigan USA, before delivery in 2014. It was installed by Cserve Ltd using the latest technology engine mounts and flexible drive couplings to minimise vibration. There is a fresh water flushing system installed. The engine will have a full service as part of the agreed sale.
The engine bay is wired using modern, historic look, wiring with concealed wiring to current, tinned copper, spec. All terminals used heat shrink epoxy field crimps.
The boat has a traditional look, pushbutton stereo radio by retro sound with six speakers and a Garmin GPS with depth sounder.
There are three fully automatic fire extinguishers installed. One over each fuel tank and one in the engine bay.
It has a lva-lite remote-control spotlight from the USA, built to the original 1936 design.
The instruments were all manufactured by sea CAI gauges in Wales to modern standards with the original “Smiths industries” dial faces.
The package includes a fully enclosed PRG Monza trailer with:
Winch
LED Lighting
Dehumidifier
Heater
Battery Charger
