Boatshed Essex are pleased to be presenting this hardly used Beneteau First 18 SE, designed to be one of the safest in this one-design class.
They are said to provide a dinghy-like sailing experience, with a more stable and safer platform provided by the wide and flat hull shape and deep-ballasted swinging keel. Boat handling and deck controls are simplified as much as possible for the best sailing experience. With the ergonomically designed and spacious open cockpit, the boat can be easily sailed single handed or with 2 or 3 crew. With Insumbersibility chambers making it unsinkable, a swinging keel and with twin rudders providing complete control for stable downwind sailing.
The light displacement, retractable keel, easily removable rudder blades and a carbon mast makes the First 18 SE an easy trailerable experience, with the addition of being slip-launch-able. Also providing a platform to explore shallower waters and creeks, with the addition of a double cabin, for overnight stays.
This version has only been used for one season and has been recently antifouled and is prepared for the next season.
This comes with a trailer which has not been slipped or submerged. There is an outboard engine available, for separate negotiation.
